Twelve Women Arrested During A Five-Day Enforcement Operation Against Massage Establishments And Public Entertainment Outlets

The Police have arrested 12 women, aged between 23 and 38, during a five-day enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Tanjong Pagar Road, Beach Road, North Bridge Road, Victoria Street, Outram Road, Coleman Street, Kitchener Road, Jalan Sultan, Keong Saik Road, Neil Road, Keng Cheow Street and Robinson Road from 14 to 18 January 2019.

During the operation conducted by Central Police Division, five unlicensed massage establishments were detected and five massage establishments were found to have contravened licensing rules and conditions. Eight women, aged between 23 and 38, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and Women’s Charter.

Five public entertainment outlets were also found to have contravened licensing conditions. Four women, aged between 24 and 37, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

Investigations are ongoing.

Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act 2017. The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
