The Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted theft.

On 24 January 2019, the Police received a report from a resident who informed that his CCTV captured footages of a man rummaging through the shoes outside his unit at a block along Tampines Street 86 on 23 January 2019. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of footages from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 28 January 2019. Following the arrest, an assortment of women undergarments, believed to be stolen, were recovered from the man’s residence.

Investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for attempted theft under Section 379 read with Section 511 of the Penal Code is liable to an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
