Two Men Arrested For Voluntarily Causing Hurt By Dangerous Weapon

The Police have arrested two men, aged 60 and 66, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon.

On 3 March 2019 at about 7.20pm, the Police were alerted to a case of assault at Block 101 Yung Sheng Road. Upon arrival, the alleged attackers had fled the scene. The victim, who was found with facial injuries, was believed to be assaulted with a knuckleduster. The victim was subsequently conveyed conscious to the hospital.

Through ground enquires and with the aid of images from the police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them on 11 March 2019.

Both men will be charged in court on 13 March 2019 with voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon with common intention under Section 324 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they shall be liable for an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
