The Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a series of mischief by fire. 
 
On 18 March 2019 at about 8.50am, the Police received a report that a woman had set fire to the grass along Lorong 12 Geylang. Through ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the woman and arrested her within five hours. Preliminary investigations revealed that she had also set fire to the dry grass along Still Road, Changi Road, Jalan Eunos and Telok Kurau.  
 
The woman will be charged in court on 19 March 2019 with mischief by fire. Anyone convicted for mischief by fire with intent to cause damage to property under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, is liable for an imprisonment term up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
