The Police have arrested 10 women and a man, aged between 23 and 39, during a series of enforcement operations conducted against unlicensed massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Kallang Bahru, Rangoon Road, Havelock Road, North Bridge Road, Beach Road and Jalan Pinang from 3 to 4 April 2019.
During the enforcement operations conducted by Central Police Division, two unlicensed massage establishments were detected, and one outlet was found to have contravened licensing conditions.
Two public entertainment outlets were also found to have contravened licensing conditions. Nine women, aged between 23 and 39, were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. A 26-year-old woman was arrested for offences under the Immigration Act and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, while a 33-year-old man was arrested for drunkenness in public place.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act and Public Entertainment Act. The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
