The Police have arrested ten men, aged between 18 and 34, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting along Geylang Road.
On 4 April 2019 at about 3.11am, the Police were alerted to a case of fight along Geylang Road. Through investigations and extensive ground enquiries, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Bedok Police Division established the identities of the men and subsequently arrested them on 5 and 6 April 2019.
Investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to caning.
