The Police have arrested a 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman for their suspected involvement in a series of housebreaking and theft by night.
Between 6 April 2019 and 10 April 2019, the Police received reports that several rubbish collection centres in Toa Payoh had been broken into. Cash, jewelleries, cameras and electronic devices were reported stolen.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the suspects and arrested them on 10 April 2019.
The suspects will be charged in court on 12 April 2019 with housebreaking and theft by night with common intention under Section 457 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than 2 years and not more than 14 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
