The Police have arrested two men and two women, aged between 22 and 29, in an enforcement operation by the Central Police Division on 13 May 2019. The operation targeting vice activities was conducted along Middle Road and Tiong Bahru Road.
During the enforcement operation, two women, aged 29, were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter. They were believed to have advertised sexual services online and operated from hotels. Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested for immigration-related offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
Landlords and hotel owners are advised to ensure that tenants do not carry out vice activities in their premises. Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of $10,000 and/or up to five years’ imprisonment. Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000.
The Police take a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
