Woman Arrested For Criminal Breach Of Trust As A Servant Involving $300,000 Worth Of Mobile Phones

The Police have arrested a 38-year-old woman for her involvement in a case of criminal breach of trust as a servant.

On 24 May 2019 at about 7.15pm, the Police received a report from an electronics service company that more than 400 sets of mobile phones worth about $300,000 were reported missing from their warehouse. 

Through ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested her on 25 May 2019. 65 mobile phones, and cash amounting close to $6,000 were also seized.

The woman will be charged in court on 27 May 2019 with criminal breach of trust as a servant under Section 408 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with an imprisonment term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
