The Police have arrested eighteen women, aged between 23 and 35, during a three-day enforcement operation against massage establishments, public entertainment outlets and secondhand goods dealers along New Bridge Road, Jalan Besar, Victoria Street from 4 to 6 June 2019.
During the enforcement checks conducted by Central Police Division, one unlicensed massage establishment was detected.
During the enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets, one outlet was found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Eighteen women, aged between 23 and 35 were arrested for offences under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
During the enforcement checks against secondhand goods dealers, one dealer was found to have contravened the Secondhand Goods Dealers Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act 2017, Public Entertainment Act, and the Secondhand Goods Dealers Act. The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
