The Police conducted enforcement operations against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets along Tanjong Pagar Plaza, Sago Street, Foch Road, and Beach Road on 14 and 15 June 2019.
During the enforcement checks conducted by Central Police Division on massage establishments, two outlets were found to be operating as a massage establishment without licence. A 35-year-old woman was arrested for offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and a 22-year-old woman was arrested for offence under the Woman’s Charter.
During the enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets, three public entertainment outlets were found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions. Twelve women, aged between 22 and 32, were arrested for offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
Actions will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Massage Establishment Act 2017 and Public Entertainment Act. The Police will continue to take tough enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
