The Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery.
On 25 June 2019 at about 7.50pm, the Police received a report that a man had robbed a 17-year-old man with a knife while on a bus travelling along Sembawang Road. A handphone and cash amounting to $500 were stolen.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police and CCTV cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and subsequently arrested him on 27 June 2019.
The man will be charged in court on 28 June 2019 with armed robbery, under Section 392 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 12 strokes.
