The Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 20 June 2019 at about 2.40 pm, the Police received a report that a woman was molested by an unknown man inside a MRT train cabin.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from closed-circuit television, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 4 July 2019.
Police investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of outrage of modesty, under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
