The Police have arrested two men, aged 18 and 25, for their suspected involvement in a series case of theft of vehicle component parts.
On 9 July 2019, the Police received a report from a victim informing that the exhaust pipe from his motorcycle was stolen while the it was parked at the carpark of Blk 554 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.
With the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them on 10 July 2019. Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo is believed to be involved in similar cases reported at the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio housing estate.
The duo will be charged in court on 12 July 2019 with theft of vehicle component parts under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
