The Police have arrested 10 men, aged between 19 and 30, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.
On 9 August 2019 at about 3.45am, the Police were alerted to a case of rioting along 5 Magazine Road.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV camera, officers from Central Police Division established the identities of the ten men and arrested them between 9 and 11 August 2019.
Four men, aged between 20 and 30, will be charged in court on 13 August 2019 with rioting, punishable under Section 147 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted for the offence of rioting punishable under Section 147 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years and shall also be liable to caning.
Investigations against the remaining six men are ongoing.
