The Police have arrested a 65-year-old man for suspected theft of cash.
On 22 August 2019 at 5.13pm, the Police were alerted to a case of theft at Joo Chiat Rd. Cash amounting to S$260/- was stolen.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 22 August 2019 at 8.50pm. The majority of the cash was recovered.
The man will be charged in court on 23 August 2019 with the offence of theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted for theft, he shall be liable to an imprisonment term of up to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
