Three Men Arrested For Housebreaking And Theft With Common Intention

The Police have arrested three men, aged between 45 and 48, for their suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft with common intention.

On 28 August 2019 at about 7.25pm, the Police received a report that a shop located at Blk 174C Hougang Avenue 1 had been broken into. Aluminum doors, wash basins and cooker hoods were reported stolen.

Through investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the three men and arrested them on 30 August 2019.

The three men will be charged in court on 31 August 2019 with housebreaking and theft by day with common intention under Section 454 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 10 years.

The Police would like to advise the public to adopt the following crime prevention measures: 

  • Ensure that all doors, windows and other openings are well secured;
  • Secure all doors and window grills before retiring to bed or when leaving your home unattended, even for a short while; and
  • Install a burglar alarm, motion sensor light and/or close circuit surveillance camera to cover the access points into your premises. Ensure that they are tested periodically and in good working condition.
