The Police have arrested two men, aged 31 and 38, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of copper wires along Lorong 23 Geylang.
On 16 September 2019, the Police received a report on a case of theft at a construction site along Lorong 23 Geylang where copper wires amounting to about $1400 were stolen.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from closed-circuit television, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them in the vicinity of Geylang.
The men will be charged in court on 21 September 2019 for theft with common intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, and shall be liable to fine.
