The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means.
On 26 November 2019, the Police received a report from a male victim informing that he was assaulted by an unknown man who was riding a personal mobility device (PMD) after a dispute over the right of way along the pedestrian walkway along Yio Chu Kang Road. As a result, the victim suffered facial injuries.
Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 17 December 2019 along Hougang Street 31.
Police investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means under Section 324 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishment.
The Police takes a serious view of anyone involved in criminal activities and will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those breaking the law.
