The Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.
On 20 November 2019, the Police were alerted to a case of snatch theft along Blk 141 Lorong 2 Toa Payoh, where a female victim’s handbag was snatched by an unknown man. Her handbag contained a mobile phone, cash and other personal belongings.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 26 December 2019.
The man will be charged in court on 27 December 2019 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and caning.
