The Police have arrested a 22-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.
In November 2019, the Police received several reports from victims who were purportedly cheated by a woman who had posted in a Telegram group, offering unwanted sports apparels to be given away with a postage fee between S$2/- and S$15/-. After receiving the payment, the woman would allegedly fail to deliver the goods.
Through follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the woman on 26 December 2019.
Police investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
