The Police have arrested a 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man for their suspected involvement in two cases of theft in dwelling.
On 30 January 2020, the Police received two reports of theft at two jewelry stores, one located in VivoCity and another in Plaza Singapura. In total, jewelry amounting to $8,758 were reported stolen. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the duo and arrested them along Geylang Lorong 16 on 3 February 2020. In connection to the cases, the Police have seized a bracelet and a watch found in their possession.
The duo will be charged in court on 5 Febuary 2020 with the offence of theft in dwelling read with common intention under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted of theft in dwelling is liable to a jail term of up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
