The Police have arrested a 49-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft from motor vehicles.

On 10 February 2020 at about 4.20am, the Police were alerted to an incident where a man was observed behaving suspiciously along Lorong 33 Geylang.

Officers from Bedok Police Division responded to the incident and detained the man. Following a search, cash amounting to S$280/- and other properties such as a mobile phone and cashcards, believed to be stolen from the vehicles parked in the vicinity were found in his possession. The man was subsequently arrested and preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in a series of theft from vehicle cases in Geylang.

The man will be charged in court on 11 February 2020 with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
