The Police have arrested three men, aged between 19 and 20, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle.

On 8 February 2020, at about 7.08pm, the Police received a report that a motorcycle parked along Bedok North Street 3 was stolen.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the three men and arrested them on 9 February 2020.

Investigations against the three men are ongoing. The punishment for the offence of theft of motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and shall also be liable to fine.

The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
  • Install an anti-theft alarm for your motorcycle;
  • Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle and secure both ends; 
  • Use additional locking devices such as disc brake locks or install a suspension guard; and
Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended.
