The Police have arrested a 46-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of motor vehicle theft along Macpherson Road.
On 15 December 2018 at about 2pm, the Police received a report that a motorcycle parked at a back alley along Macpherson Road was stolen.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 12 February 2020.
The man will be charged in court on 14 February 2020 with theft of motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and a fine.
The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
· Park in well-lit areas;
· Install an anti-theft alarm system;
· Remove the ignition key whenever the vehicle is left unattended; and
· Lock all vehicle doors and wind up all windows when vehicle is parked, even if it is for a short while.
