The Police are investigating three 15-year-old male teenagers for an offence of mischief.

On 20 February 2020, the Police received a report that spittle was found on the buttons of a lift panel at Rumbia LRT station. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the teenagers on 21 February 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenagers had spat at the said lift panel on 19 February 2020 at about 6.10pm.

Police investigations against the three teenagers are ongoing.

The offence of mischief under Section 426 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to two years, or a fine, or both.

The Police take a serious view of such inconsiderate and irresponsible behaviour, especially in the current COVID-19 situation. Everyone needs to play their part to maintain social responsibility, and observe good personal hygiene.
