The Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of voyeurism cases.
On 2 March 2020, the Police received a report from a woman who informed that she was filmed by an unknown man at Canberra MRT station and believed that the suspect had recorded an upskirt video of her.
Through investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and subsequently arrested him on 4 March 2020. The man is suspected to be involved in other cases of voyeurism between January and March 2020.
The man will be charged in court on 6 March 2020 with voyeurism, punishable under Section 377BB of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries a jail term of up to 2 years, and shall be liable to a fine or caning.
