The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.
On 9 March 2020, the Police received a report of theft at a jewellery store along Bendemeer Road. Jewellery amounting to $7,797 were reported stolen. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 10 March 2020. In connection to the case, the Police have seized three gold chains.
The man will be charged in court on 11 March 2020 with the offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted of theft in dwelling is liable to a jail term of up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
