The Police have arrested a 37-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling.

On 7 March 2020, the Police were alerted to a case of theft at a jewellery shop located along Bukit Merah Central. Jewellery amounting to $2,780 were reported stolen.

Through ground enquiries, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 15 March 2020. One gold chain and one pendant were seized as case exhibits.

The man will be charged in court on 17 March 2020 with the offence of theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
