The Police have arrested a 41-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft.

On 15 March 2020 at about 3.30pm, the Police received a report from a female victim informing that her undergarments which were left outside her residential unit along Tampines Avenue 9 had been stolen.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 1 April 2020. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in similar cases reported in Tampines and more than 2,500 female undergarments found in his possession were seized.

The man will be charged in court on 3 April 2020 with theft, punishable under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
