The Police have arrested a 45-year-old woman for her suspected involvement of housebreaking.

On 13 April 2020 at about 10pm, the Police were alerted that two units located along Bukit Merah Central were broken-into. Cash amounting to $108 was reported missing.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the woman and arrested her on 15 April 2020. 

Investigations are ongoing. The offence of for housebreaking under Section 451 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years and a fine.

The Police would like to advise all property owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

•              Secure all doors, windows and other openings when leaving your premises unattended, even for a short while; and

•              Refrain from keeping large sums of cash in any premises.
