The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of vehicle component parts.
On 7 April 2020 at about 10.50am, the Police received a report from a victim informing that the wheels from his motorcycle were stolen while it was parked at the carpark of No.2 Seah Im Road.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 17 April 2020.
The man will be charged in court on 18 April 2020 with theft of vehicle component parts under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, and a fine.
The Police would like to advise all motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
· Park your motorcycle in well-lit areas;
· Use a motorcycle canvas to cover the motorcycle, securing both ends; and
· Remove the ignition key and lock the motorcycle, whenever it is left unattended.
