The Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted armed robbery.

On 24 April 2020 at about 9.05pm, Police received a report that an unknown man wielding a knife had attempted to rob a 23-year-old woman along Changi Road. The victim managed to flee from the man and contacted the Police. No injuries were reported and no valuables were taken.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 25 April 2020.

The man will be charged in court on 27 April 2020 with attempted armed robbery, under Section 393 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code. The offence carries a jail term which may extend to not less than 2 years and not more than 7 years, and caning with not less than 12 strokes.
