17 Singaporeans and one Singapore Permanent Resident, aged between 18 and 37 years old, will be charged in court between 22 and 24 July 2020 for non-compliance with safe distancing measures (SDM) during the Circuit Breaker, under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
On 8 May 2020, a couple residing at Compassvale Crescent invited eight men and eight women to their place of residence for a social gathering. The 16 people, who visited the unit between 9.30 pm on 8 May 2020 and 1.00 am on 9 May 2020, will be charged for violating the restrictions on leaving their place of residence without a valid reason and for violating the prohibition on social gatherings under regulation 4(2) and regulation 6 of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020 respectively. The couple will be charged for violating the restrictions on permitting other individuals to enter their ordinary place of residence without a valid reason and for violating the prohibition on social gatherings under regulation 4(4) and regulation 6 of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020 respectively.
The authorities will not hesitate to take action against anyone who does not comply with SDM or shows blatant disregard for our laws. Let us all do our part to curb the spread of COVID-19.
