Between 19 November 2020 and 29 November 2020, Clementi Police Division presented three members of the public with the Public Spiritedness Award, and staff from seven organisations were commended for their strong community partnership with the Police.
Cases Commended for Public Spiritedness Award
On 2 May 2020, Mr Avenash Mirchandani Changaroth confronted a man climbing into his neighbour’s unit. As the man fled, Mr Avenash called the Police and together with his brother, Mr Amrit Mirchandani Changaroth, searched the neighbourhood and found the man at a nearby supermarket. The duo detained the man at the supermarket, leading to his arrest.
On 16 June 2020, Mr Clifford Ang Wei Kang spotted a man misappropriating an item from a provision shop. Mr Ang attempted to stop the man but he fled. Mr Ang then called the Police and provided a clear description of the man and his last known location, leading to his arrest.

The following seven organisations were highlighted for their close collaboration with Clementi Police Division in developing and implementing crime prevention initiatives. In recognition of their significant contributions, the organisations were presented with the Community Partnership Award (Organisation).

Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Marc E, Commander of Clementi Police Division, expressed his appreciation to the award recipients for their public spiritedness in making our community a safer and more secure place to live in.
