The Police have arrested a 60-year-old man for attempted murder of a 52-year-old man.

On 12 June 2021 at about 9.35pm, the Police responded to a case of assault with a knife at a carpark along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

Upon arrival, officers found the 52-year-old man with stab wounds at the scene. The man was conveyed conscious to hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 60-year-old man had allegedly attacked the man who was known to him.

The 60-year-old man who fled the scene before the police’s arrival was subsequently arrested within two hours of the reported crime. Police investigations are ongoing.

The 60-year-old man will be charged in court on 14 June 2021 with attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code. If found guilty of the offence of attempted murder, he will be liable for life imprisonment, imprisonment of up to 20 years and a fine, or both.
