The Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voyeurism.
On 6 July 2021, at about 7.20am, on-duty officers from the Public Transport Security Command spotted a man allegedly taking an upskirt video of a female victim on the escalator at Clementi MRT station. The officers subsequently detained and arrested the man at the concourse area of the MRT station.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases of voyeurism at various MRT stations island-wide.
Investigations are ongoing. The offence of voyeurism under Section 377BB of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, a fine, caning, or any combinations of such punishments.
