    Man Arrested For Snatch Theft

    The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft.

    On 30 July 2021 at about 3.45am, the Police were alerted to a case of snatch theft, where a male victim’s gold chain was snatched by an unknown man along Upper Aljunied Lane.

    Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV and Police cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day, within 12 hours of the Police report.

    The man will be charged in court on 31 July 2021 with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than seven years, and caning.
