The Police will be charging five men, aged between 22 and 58, in court on 25 March 2022 for their suspected involvement in five separate cases of outrage of modesty.

The cases are as follows:

  1. On 3 July 2021, a 48-year-old man who was working as a sports massage therapist allegedly molested his patient, a 28-year-old woman at his clinic located along Malacca Street. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty.

  2. On 4 February 2021 and 21 July 2021, a 28-year-old man allegedly molested his roommate, a 34-year-old woman along Selegie Road. The man will be charged with two counts of outrage of modesty.

  3. On 17 July 2021, a 22-year-old man allegedly molested a 20-year-old woman in the vicinity of Merchant Road. The man will be charged in court with one count of outrage of modesty.

  4. On 11 August 2021, a 58-year-old man allegedly molested a woman at Lavender MRT station. The man allegedly approached the woman on the pretext of befriending her and molested her subsequently. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty.

  5. On 6 December 2021, a 23-year-old man allegedly molested a female teenager, at Little India MRT station. The man will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty.

The offence of outrage of modesty, punishable under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871, carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.

The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community, and will deal with them swiftly and sternly in accordance with the law.
