A 28-year-old man will be charged in court on 15 July 2022 for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon.
On 14 July 2022 at 4.01pm, the Police responded to multiple calls of a fight and blood trail seen at Block 116 Jalan Bukit Merah.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 28-year-old man was involved in a dispute with a 27-year-old man, and the 28-year-old man allegedly used a chopper to slash the other man’s hands and legs. The 27-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital, and the 28-year-old man was arrested at scene.
The 28-year-old man will be charged in court on 15 July 2022 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon punishable under Section 326 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to fifteen years, and shall be liable to a fine or caning.
The Police will not tolerate such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law. We will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law.
