There has been a change of command at the Public Transport Security Command.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Masagoes Idris Hussain assumed the command of Public Transport Security Command (TransCom) on 10 August 2022. DAC Masagoes has taken over from AC Fanny Koh Bee Yuan (许美弦), who assumed the appointment of Deputy Director of the Operations Department on 15 August 2022.

DAC Masagoes, 46, joined the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 1998. He has served 24 years with the SPF and has held several key appointments including Deputy Director of the Centre for Protective Security, Deputy Commander of Clementi Police Division, Deputy Commander of Protective Security at both Tuas and Woodlands Checkpoints and Assistant Director of the Police National Service Department.

During his tenure at the Centre for Protective Security, DAC Masagoes fronted the implementation and operationalisation of the Infrastructure Protection Act and was concurrently the Deputy Commissioner of Infrastructure Protection.

AC Fanny, 46, who was appointed Commander of TransCom on 1 September 2020, also joined the SPF in 1998 and has similarly served 24 years with the SPF. She has held several key appointments, including Deputy Commander of the Protective Security Command, Deputy Director of the Training and Capability Development Department, Deputy Director of Operations Policy at the Security Policy and Development Directorate in the Joint Operations Division of MHA and Head Operations and Training at Ang Mo Kio Police Division.

In addition, AC Fanny has served as the Deputy Commander of the Inter-Agency Task Force to support the Whole-Of-Government efforts in managing COVID-19 at the migrant worker dormitories. She was in charge of the deployment of the Home Team Forward Assurance and Support Teams at dormitories to assure, demonstrate care, and ensure the well-being of the dormitory residents to ensure public health and order during the pandemic.

As Commander of TransCom, AC Fanny oversaw the implementation of TransCom’s masterplan to ensure that its operations remain future-proof amidst the ever-evolving public security landscape and the progressive expansion of public transport network. AC Fanny also deepened the collaboration with public transport operators and partners to reach out to commuters to raise crime awareness and keep the public transport network safe. This included the enrolment of active volunteers under the Rider-on-Watch (ROW) interest group of the Community Watch Scheme (CWS) into the Citizens on Patrol (COP) and Volunteer Special Constabulary Community (VSCC) schemes. These schemes enabled the volunteers to patrol with police officers and engage the commuters on crime prevention measures.

Reflecting on her tenure as Commander of TransCom, AC Fanny said, “It has been a privilege serving alongside a team of dedicated officers to safeguard and enhance the security of Singapore’s public transport network, which serves millions of commuters on daily basis. I would also like to thank our partners, the Land Transport Authority and public transport operators, for their strong support, especially during the COVID-19 period. Special thanks also go to the Community Watch Scheme (Rider-On-Watch) volunteers for stepping forward to keep our community safe.”
