The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in two cases of forgery.

On 3 May 2023, the Police received a report of a case of forgery where the 33-year-old man had allegedly submitted forged medical certificates to the company. The man was also believed to have forged tax invoices to make fraudulent claims.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division arrested the 33-years-old man and seized several items including a mobile phone and the forged documents.

The man will be charged in court on 14 June 2023 with Forgery and Forgery for the purpose of Cheating under Section 465 of the Penal Code 1871 and Section 468 of the Penal Code 1871 respectively.

The offence of Forgery under Section 465 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 4 years, or with fine, or with both. The offence of Forgery for the purpose of Cheating under Section 468 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and a fine. The Police takes a serious view of any person who engages in fraudulent or dishonest conduct. Offenders will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.
