The Police have arrested two men, aged 19 and 52, for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt.
On 6 September 2023 at about 12.45am, the Police were alerted to a case of robbery with hurt along Tampines Street 22. Preliminary investigations revealed that the two men had allegedly assaulted the victim and robbed him of his wallet and mobile phone. The victim sustained injuries and was conveyed to the hospital.
Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTVs and Police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them within 13 hours of the report. The stolen mobile phone and cash amounting to more than S$630 were recovered.
The suspects will be charged in court on 8 September 2023 with the offence of robbery with hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
