On 2 November 2023, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Masagoes Idris Hussain, Commander of Public Transport Security Command (TransCom), unveiled the first Police concept train at the Harbourfront MRT Station. Three organisations and eight staff were also commended for their strong community partnership with the Police.
Launch of Police Concept Train
TransCom launched the inaugural Police concept train at the Harbourfront MRT Station. The concept train seeks to create awareness on outrage of modesty or molestation cases on the public land transport network. Cautionary messages are displayed prominently on the floors as well as on the sides of the cabin’s interior to warn would-be perpetrators of the consequences and penalties for committing the crime. This is the first of five concept trains to be rolled out and the initiative is expected to be fully implemented by February 2024. Similar themed messages focusing on the offence of taking upskirt photos or videos at the public land transport network would also be displayed on the platform screen doors and escalators of selected MRT stations and advertisement panels on selected bus interchanges (Refer to Annex A).
