The Police will be charging a 30-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
On 8 September 2024 at about 6pm, the Police were alerted to a fight along Paya Lebar Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 30-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a 48-year-old man. The 48-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the 30-year-old man and arrested him on 10 September 2024. Three other men, aged between 30 and 32, are assisting with investigations.
The 30-year-old man will be charged in court on 11 September 2024 with voluntarily causing grievous hurt under Section 325 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and a fine or caning.
The Police have zero tolerance towards such acts of violence and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
