Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan Bin Haji Hambali, Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force, was conferred the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 15 October 2024 at the Istana.
CP Dato Mohammad Irwan was appointed Commissioner of Police of Royal Brunei Police Force on 22 June 2019. Under his leadership, the bilateral relationship between the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Singapore Police Force was strengthened, underpinned by close cooperation in capacity and capability building. CP Dato Mohammad Irwan strongly supported mutual training exchanges between the two Police forces which helped hone the specialised skillsets of officers.
This close cooperation reflects CP Dato Mohammad Irwan’s strong commitment to advancing bilateral ties between Brunei and Singapore and in turn, enhance the safety and security of both nations.
“The Singapore Police Force and Royal Brunei Police Force enjoy a longstanding partnership built on mutual trust and unwavering commitment to fighting crime. We will continue to strengthen this partnership and leverage our combined expertise to better safeguard our nations,” said Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck.
During his stay in Singapore, CP Dato Mohammad Irwan made courtesy calls on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck.
