Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State (MOS) for Home Affairs & National Development, launched "Ray's Crime Buster Arena", a new arcade-style game machine designed in-house by Central Police Division to help players learn more about the latest scam tactics, and how they can protect themselves from scams at the Division's recent Community Roadshow held on 7 December 2024 at Tiong Bahru Plaza. The theme of the event was "Play It Safe: A Crime Prevention Game Adventure" and featured interactive game booths and exhibitions to educate the public on crime and scam prevention.
Agencies including the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), as well as community partners from People’s Association - Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Grassroots Organizations and Youth COP leaders from SHINE Children & Youth Services, also participated in the roadshow.
Visitors tried out "Ray's Crime Buster Arena" and other community engagement games, which have been designed to make learning about crime prevention fun and memorable. Visitors were also invited to sign up for the Community Watch Scheme to receive updates on the latest crime information, alerts and advisories, or to sign-up as a Citizen on Patrol (COP) or Volunteer Special Constabulary at recruitment booths.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Wong Keng Hoe, Commander of Central Police Division, said, “The Police continues to find new ways to share our crime and scam prevention messages. We want to be able to use different games and initiatives to reach out to a variety of people, and to help make the crime prevention knowledge stick in a fun, engaging way. A vigilant public is our best safeguard against crime.”
