Man Arrested For Robbery With Hurt Within Eight Hours

The Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt.

On 9 March 2025 at about 12.35pm, the Police were alerted to a case of robbery with hurt along Robinson Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 33-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted by the man and a bag containing cash amounting to $300 was allegedly taken away from him. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within eight hours of the report. Cash amounting to $172 and the bag were recovered.

The man will be charged in court on 11 March 2025 with the offence of robbery with hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years, and caning of not less than 12 strokes.

The Police will not tolerate such brazen acts of crime and will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law. Members of the public who encounter such cases are advised to remain calm, take note of the physical appearance and distinctive features of the perpetrator, and call for the Police as soon as possible.
