The Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On 13 April 2025 at about 8.40 am, the Police were alerted to a case of outrage of modesty along Gerald Drive. A man had allegedly molested a 42-year-old woman.
Through follow-up investigations and images from Police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and swiftly arrested him within 15 minutes of the call.
The man will be charged in court on 15 April 2025 with the offence of outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to three years, a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The Police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of those in the community. Offenders will be dealt with sternly, in accordance with the law. Members of the public are also encouraged to remain vigilant and report the matter to the Police immediately. This includes when they witness an incident of molestation or are aware of someone being a victim of molestation.
