The Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of vandalism.
On 16 April 2024 at about 4.55am, the Police received a call for assistance at Blk 463 Sembawang Drive where a man who was believed to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The man was subsequently arrested for causing annoyance whilst drunk. During the arrest, the man allegedly smashed his forehead against the left passenger window of the police vehicle, causing damage to the window.
He will be charged in court on 17 April 2025 with offence vandalism under Section 3 of the Vandalism Act 1966. The offence of vandalism carries a fine not exceeding $2,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years, and shall also be liable to caning of not less than 3 strokes and not more than 8 strokes.
The Police have zero tolerance towards acts of vandalism and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
